The Audi 4000 was designed and engineered to bring together the comfort and elegance typical of European touring cars with the performance and handling characteristics typical of European sports cars. The Audi 4000 delivers these standards with flying colours.
The spacious interior seats five adults in complete comfort, and as you would expect, the 4000 comes equipped with a full complement of creature comforts including AM/FM stereo radio and sunroof - while the 4000 S model also offers such luxury features as power windows and door locks, cruise control, and air conditioning, all as standard equipment.
On the open road, the Audi 4000 presents the driver with yet another aspect ot its personality in a word, performance. Responsive rack and pinion steering in concert with front-wheel drive and independent front suspensionr complete with MacPherson struts, make this Audi one of the best handling sedans to ever come out of Europe.

Extensive wind tunnel experimentation resulted in the Audi’s aerodynamic shape and produced a low wind-drag co-efficient for a sedan - adding to its economy and handling performance.
The powerful 5-cylinder, fuel-injected engine, combined with th 4000’s curb weight provides the Audi 4000 with one of the lowest power-to-weight ratios in its class. The lower the power-to-weight ratio the better the performance and economy. The 2.2 litre 110 hp engine with overhead camshaft has a six main bearing crankshaft for maximum durability and an aluminum cylinder head to minimize engine weight. It also features a transistorized breakerless ignition system for reduced maintenance, improved cold starting and reliable highway performance.
In place of a carburetor, the 4000 uses the highly dependable CIS fuel-injection system (Continuous Injection System), which is ideally suited to easy start-ups and quick cold weather response. The CIS fuel injection is noted for its highly accurate metering, which results in efficient use of fuel and clean exhaust emissions. And to add economy to efficiency, the Audi 4000 runs on regular gasoline.
