    Description

    Wedding baskets were used in the 19th century China to store and carry
    fruits and
    foods for weddings. Red lacquer symbolizes good luck and great fortune.
    All wood panels were hand cut and held in tension by brass loops, an ingenious way
    of basket making in southern China. This one has twisted metal around the base,
    but the metal band at the middle is missing. It is 18 inches tall and 11 inches
